Medical Institute of Peoples' Friendship University of Russia named after Patrice Lumumba (RUDN University) hosted the 5th Scientific and Practical Conference "Modern research trends in the field of plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine".
The participants of the event exchanged scientific and practical experience in the field of plastic, reconstructive, aesthetic surgery and medicine, got acquainted with current trends in dermatovenerology and cosmetology, plastic surgery in oncology, perinatology, dietetics and nutritional medicine.
The conference programme included a plenary session, work in sections and thematic discussions. Leading Russian scientists in the field of plastic surgery, oncology, dermatovenerology and cosmetology, gynaecology, representatives of governmental authorities and business were invited to take part in the event.

Natalia Prokopyeva, Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Evalar", noted the importance of scientific co-operation with foreign specialists.
"Scientific co-operation is very important for us today. Today we are represented in 30 countries, including the BRICS member countries, and we are actively developing scientific expertise," she said.
Natalia Prokopyeva noted the contribution of RUDN specialists to the company's new developments and emphasised the effectiveness of synergy between science and industry in ensuring progress in medicine and healthcare.

I believe that it is precisely the synergy of science and industry that helps us to provide patients with advanced medicines," concluded the head of "Evalar".

Mohammad Alavi, a postgraduate student of the Department of Dermatovenerology at RUDN University, spoke about the exchange of experience and knowledge.
"At events of this level, three areas are discussed: dermatology, cosmetology and plastic surgery. This is a unique opportunity for us to learn about new treatment methods. Today in Russia scientific technologies are developing at a rapid pace. The Jordanian side is glad to exchange experience with Russian colleagues. Our country also has a high level of medicine, but we are always open to new information," he said.
RUDN University has been organising the conference "Modern Trends of Research in Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine" for the fifth year already. The event is aimed at young specialists interested in professional development in one of the areas of plastic surgery or aesthetic medicine. However, the conference will also be of interest to current plastic surgeons, dermatologists, cosmetologists, gynaecologists, scientific and pedagogical workers of medical universities. The co-organiser of the event is Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University.
